Positive outcomes has a firmly held belief that education is essential in the development of young people.  We expect that all young people will attend education and where possible we will support their current education placements. Our aim is to access mainstream schools for the majority of young people placed us as we feel that this provides benefits that go far beyond educational achievement.

Attendance of mainstream school provides a broad based curriculum and has the added bonus of allowing the young person to integrate with their peer group,  forming relationships outside of the looked after system which will help to build confidence and raise self esteem.

The team at Positive Outcomes make a point of forming close links with local schools, our managers meet regularly with education professionals to explore ways that the young people can access mainstream education as part of our inclusion policy.

We do recognise that there will be a minority of young people who are unable to cope with mainstream education and require more specialist provision to this end we have access to DFE registered schools who have a wealth of experience in this field and have proven track records in demonstrating achievement.

Positive Outcomes has forged strong links with local colleges enabling us to offer greater opportunities to the pupils, this includes a travel to learn programme (the pupils will be able to attend college one day a week to study vocational subjects not accessible through the national curriculum).

Positive Outcomes employ staff who are qualified to deliver ASDAN and AQA training within the home should the young person need additional support prior to accessing full time education.
